Gaviscon Advance provides relief from heartburn, acid reflux, acid regurgitation and indigestion, including symptoms occurring after meals or during pregnancy.

It forms a protective barrier over the stomach contents, helping prevent acid from flowing back into the food pipe and causing discomfort.

Each 10ml dose contains 1,000mg sodium alginate and 200mg potassium hydrogen carbonate.

Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. Measure the required dose and take it after meals and at bedtime.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over should take 5–10ml after meals and at bedtime, up to four times daily.

Children under 12 years should only take Gaviscon Advance when advised by a doctor or other healthcare professional.

Gaviscon Advance may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding when taken as directed. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

Leave at least two hours between taking Gaviscon Advance and other oral medicines, as it may affect how some treatments work.

Gaviscon Advance contains sodium and potassium. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you follow a restricted-sodium or potassium diet or have heart or kidney problems.

Side effects are very rare but may include allergic reactions such as a rash, itching, breathing difficulties or swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. Seek immediate medical help if these occur.
