Dulcolax Suppositories provide fast, short-term relief from occasional constipation by encouraging bowel movement.

Each suppository contains 10mg of bisacodyl, a stimulant laxative that acts directly in the bowel.

Dulcolax 10mg Suppositories usually produce a laxative effect within 10–30 minutes.

They are suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over. Do not use them in children under 12.

Remove the foil wrapper and gently insert one suppository, pointed end first, into the back passage. Try to keep it in place for at least 30 minutes.

Use one 10mg suppository when required. Do not use more than one suppository in 24 hours.

Do not use them every day for more than five days. Consult your doctor if your constipation continues or you regularly need laxatives.

Do not use them if you have a blocked bowel, severe dehydration, bowel inflammation, anal fissures, ulcerative proctitis or severe abdominal pain with nausea and vomiting.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using Dulcolax if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Possible side effects include abdominal cramps, stomach pain, diarrhoea, nausea, dizziness and discomfort around the back passage. Stop using them and seek medical advice if you experience a serious reaction.
