DulcoEase Stool Softener Capsules provide gentle relief from constipation. They can also make bowel movements more comfortable for people with haemorrhoids or anal fissures.

Each DulcoEase capsule contains 100mg of docusate sodium, a laxative known as a stool softener.

DulcoEase increases the amount of water within the stools, making them softer and easier to pass with less straining.

DulcoEase is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over. Do not give these capsules to children under 12.

Swallow each capsule whole with water. The recommended starting dose is one capsule three times daily, which can then be adjusted if necessary.

Do not take more than five capsules in 24 hours. Always follow the instructions in the patient information leaflet.

You should usually feel more comfortable within one to two days of starting treatment.

Do not take DulcoEase if you have persistent stomach pain, intestinal obstruction, or have felt sick or vomited within the last 24 hours. It is also unsuitable with mineral-oil laxatives such as liquid paraffin.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking DulcoEase if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Rare side effects include nausea, diarrhoea and stomach cramps. Skin rash or itching may also occur. Speak to a healthcare professional if you experience any side effects.
