CosmoCol Orange Flavour is a laxative used to treat chronic constipation by softening hard stools and making them easier to pass.

CosmoCol contains macrogol 3350, which draws water into the bowel to soften stools. Its electrolytes help maintain the body’s normal fluid and salt balance during treatment.

CosmoCol is suitable for adults, older people and children aged 12 years and over. It is not recommended for children under 12.

Empty one sachet into a glass, add approximately 125ml of water, stir until the powder has dissolved and drink.

For chronic constipation, the recommended dose is one sachet taken one to three times daily. Always follow the instructions in the patient information leaflet.

Yes. CosmoCol Orange Flavour can be taken at any time, either with or without food or drink.

Other oral medicines should not be taken for one hour before, at the same time as, or for one hour after CosmoCol. Ask your pharmacist if you take other medication.

CosmoCol can be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicine.

Possible side effects include stomach discomfort, bloating, wind, indigestion, nausea and mild diarrhoea. Seek immediate medical help if you experience a serious allergic reaction.

Treatment for constipation should not normally continue for longer than two weeks unless advised by a doctor. Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 14 days.
